This time of the year is WILD! Parties, gifts, shopping, music, food, events, family, and on and on. The expectations of this holiday season can be overwhelming. Being expected to be around people constantly. Being expected to show up to everything. Being expected to buy everyone a gift. It is ALOT!
So, I want to encourage you to slow down. Say no. Don't go. Don't buy. Don't let the pressure get to you. I know this is easier said than done. But it might be easier than the alternative of doing ALL THE THINGS.
This season can truly be whatever you want or need it to be. You have choices in how you proceed. Take your power back this holiday season, so you can enjoy it.
So slow down. Go to the party if you want to, but only if you want to. Stay home. Watch a Hallmark movie that always has a happy ending. And give yourself permission to do less.
A friend of mine shared that she was not decorating her house this year for Christmas. And that is okay because it relieves her of stress.
So do whatever you need this holiday season. If that means showing up to all the things, show up. If that means doing less, do less. If that means buying less, buy less. Because your family would rather have you happy and relaxed than overstimulated and overwhelmed.
So this is your invitation to have the holiday that you want, whatever that looks like.
